Shooting incident places Lynchburg’s elementary school on lockdown
Lynchburg, Virginia – Following a gunshot in the area, an elementary school in Lynchburg was placed on lockdown early Thursday morning.
At approximately 8:15 a.m., Lynchburg police were sent to the 4500 block of Golf Park Drive in response to reports of gunfire.
Perrymont Elementary School, which is nearby the location where the shooting occurred, was placed on lockdown immediately, but the lockdown has already been lifted.
According to the police, there is no danger to the school or the community at this time.
