Suspect arrested in connection with Roanoke incident where a man and two dogs were killed
Roanoke, Virginia – After a shooting on Saturday afternoon, the Roanoke Police Department reports that one man and two dogs have been killed.
The incident took place in the 800 block of Hershberger Road NW at around 1:40 in the afternoon.
When the police came, they discovered a man inside of a property who was in serious condition as a result of his injuries. On the scene, emergency medical services workers from Roanoke declared him dead.
One dog was found dead and a second dog was taken to an emergency veterinary office where it later died.
The identity of the victim will be made public after his family is notified.
The person believed to be responsible for this crime has now been arrested.
According to the police, the suspect and the victim knew one another, and there is no active threat to the general public at this time.
