Botetourt County administrator brings festive joy
Buchanan, Virginia – In a touching display of community engagement and festive cheer, a County Administrator is making an impact in Botetourt County, not only through his committed efforts in economic development but also by embracing the role of Santa Claus.
With Christmas fast approaching, Santa Claus is hard at work, getting ready to deliver presents to all the good boys and girls this year. Donning his signature red suit, he is excited to indulge in the delightful goodies left for him on Christmas Eve.
In Botetourt County, numerous residents have witnessed Santa bringing Christmas joy to our communities and shouting… “Ho ho ho,” chuckled Santa.
For everyone to listen as they encounter him directly. Santa expressed that his purpose remains unchanged each year: to bring to life the wishes and dreams of children.
“Interacting with them and engaging in conversation is an incredible opportunity to embody a real-life character that they are eager to approach,” stated Santa.
Who is the individual behind the beloved beard that the community has embraced over the last three years?
“Unexpected revelation!” Check out who’s returning to his regular work.
Gary Larrowe, the Administrator of Botetourt County, may be a familiar face to some. Since 2016, Larrowe has dedicated himself to improving the experiences of residents, businesses, and visitors. As the holiday season approaches, he dons the red suit, becoming the cheerful figure of Saint Nick, accompanied by Mrs. Claus.
“In my view, both a county administrator and Santa Claus serve the community.” “It’s incredibly enjoyable to blend those two roles,” stated Gary Larrowe, also known as Santa.
“He’s quite a cheerful individual in reality, so it wasn’t too much of a leap to envision,” remarked Mrs. Clause, Alice Larrowe.
Since 2021, Gary and his wife Alice have taken on the roles of Santa and Mrs. Claus, after being invited by the Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce to join the cherished Tinsel Trail in Fincastle, a well-loved holiday celebration. The couple has been enchanting audiences with holiday spirit at various locations, including local libraries, Carrington Place, and numerous corporate gatherings throughout the Roanoke Valley.
“Taking on this role truly captures the essence of the Christmas spirit.” The happiness, the optimism. The aspects we often overlook in adulthood. “It’s all about imagination, play, and giving without expecting anything back,” remarked Alice Larrowe.
“The children have shown remarkable respect, kindness, and affection.” “It’s truly remarkable to witness the exemplary behavior and inspiring nature of the children we have encountered,” remarked Gary.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are completing their last festive appearances before returning to the North Pole.
“It’s widely recognized that it’s actually Mrs. Claus who is responsible for making the list and checking it twice.” “Without Mrs. Claus, Santa would likely depart with an empty sleigh,” Alice remarked.
Nonetheless, there are still several days remaining until Christmas, so… “Keep in mind, Santa is always observing.” “Merry Christmas!” exclaimed Santa and Mrs. Claus.
