Second hiking-related rescue operation conducted in one week in Virginia
Bedford County, Virginia – On Wednesday, search and rescue crews were sent to Sharp Top Mountain in Bedford County to rescue a hiker who had been injured.
In order to aid a female hiker who had fallen about 30 feet and was injured, Bedford Fire was sent to a location close to Buzzards Roost. The hiker was airlifted to a hospital, and there is currently no information available on her condition.
This is the second rescue operation carried out by crews in response to a hiking incident in one week. The first incident was fatal to the hiker.
