Roanoke County’s former superintendent passes away at the age of 93

Roanoke County, Virginia – The passing of Dr. Bayes Elwood Wilson, who served as the first Principal of Salem High School and as the previous Superintendent of Roanoke County Schools, occurred on Friday, January 10.
During his 38 years of service in the Roanoke County School system, Wilson first worked as a teacher, then moved on to become an administrator, and eventually became the superintendent of the entire district.
Wilson was well-known for the respect that he exhibited to his workers, as well as to his teachers and parents.
His funeral service is scheduled to take place on Friday, as stated in his obituary.
