Firefighters in Lynchburg save a deer from a frozen lake

Lynchburg, Virginia – Saving a deer that had fallen through a frozen lake this morning was a great workout for the Lynchburg Fire Department.
“When it comes to saving lives, our folks don’t care whether it’s a person, their pet, or, in this case, a helpless deer – they just get the job done,” stated LFD.
According to LFD, they received a call from some local neighbors who were worried, so they went in that direction.
Together with Battalion Chief Dave Jackson, firefighters David Kidd, Chris Harris, and Jake Overstreet borrowed a boat and set out to rescue the deer.
“The deer was returned safely to dry ground and our guys got a workout they weren’t expecting,” the LFD wrote in its post. “It all comes with the territory!”
