The Roanoke City Council selects applicants for a vacant seat

Roanoke, Virginia – Joe Cobb won the mayoral election, and the City of Roanoke is currently going through a selection process to fill his position on the City Council.
Although the position is open until December 31, 2026, the Roanoke City Council has received 11 remarks from locals who would like to fill it.
The names of those who have provided statements are as follows:
• Manuel R. Dotson
• James C. Martin IV
• Kathy S. Cohen
• Cameron Chase
• William Hunter Hartley
• Gregory L. Hunt
• Ollie Howie
• Patrice M. Hampton
• Patricia White-Boyd
• Ryan Bell
• Evelyn W. Powers
Following review, Kathy S. Cohen, Evelyn W. Powers, and Patricia White-Boyd were chosen by the Council to proceed to the interview phase. Following an informal session at 9 a.m., interviews will take place at the City Council Chamber on Monday, February 3 at 11 a.m.
