Roanoke, Virginia – The Virginia Lottery reports that a winning ticket worth $3 million was purchased in Vinton on Friday.
With the exception of the Mega Ball number, the winning ticket matched the first five numbers in the drawing. The lottery said that the winner then purchased a Megaplier ticket, which increased the jackpot from $1 million to $3 million.
The lottery also notes that the ticket was purchased online through their website or app.
A total of 72,413 Mega Millions tickets were purchased in Virginia, including three $10,000 winning tickets.
The projected jackpot for Tuesday, March 26, is $1.1 billion.
