Roanoke resident hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, suspect arrested

Roanoke, Virginia – A man is arrested following a shooting in Roanoke County on Thursday night.

Officers were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. to the 4300 block of Garst Mill Road after a report of multiple shots fired and one victim.

After arrival at scene, officers found 19-year-old Roanoke resident, Calik Ty’jhay Harris, suffering life-threatening injuries from the shooting and immediately transported him to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

According to police report, the suspect was arrested for Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He is identified as 19-year-old Camron Marquis Jeffries of Roanoke County.

Investigation is underway.
