Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce to host Roanoke City Mayoral candidate forum Oct. 1
Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Mayoral Candidate Forum, scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, is quickly approaching.
The Roanoke Kiwanis Club and the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce are collaborating to host the event. The chamber states that the event, which will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m., will give the public an opportunity to interact with mayoral candidates before the next election.
The following is the event schedule:
• Time: Registration: 5:00 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. | Program: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Meet and Greet 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
• Location: City Market Building – Charter Hall
The forum will start with a registration period, and then from 6 to 7 p.m., there will be a candidate discussion.
There will thereafter be a chance for members of the public and the media to have one-on-one interviews with the candidates.
According to the chamber, walk-ins will not be accepted, and registration is essential to attend this event. Attendees must pre-register in order to guarantee their place due to limited seating. Individuals who are not registered will be denied entry.
“We urge every individual in the Roanoke community to seize this chance to directly hear from the mayoral contenders,” says Kayla Masters, the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Director of Events & Communications. “This forum is a crucial step in making sure our community is informed about and participating in the upcoming election.”
Ten News will be covering the event for you if you are unable to come. We have scheduled a live webcast of the event to be hosted by none other than our very own John Carlin.
As more information becomes available and the forum draws nearer, we will have more details and keep updating this story.
