Roanoke, Virginia – One year anniversary since moving at 425 Campbell Avenue Southwest was marked by the Roanoke Diversity Center on Sunday. The organization is an LGBTQ community center that offers a safe environment and programming for adults and youth population.

Before moving at this location last year, the center was located in a church in southeast Roanoke. The center held an open house, invited local artist Toobz Muir to paint a new mural and celebrated Pride month on its anniversary.

“Growing up in Roanoke, the LGBT community was always here, but it was hard to find them, so we’re really excited to have this space to invite people in and show them that there is an amazing LGBT community here in Roanoke,” said Peter Volosin, President of the Roanoke Diversity Center Board.

Now that people are vaccinated, the board is excited to host more in-person programming.
