Roanoke College cancels its last game against George Mason
Salem, Virginia – The last game of the season between Roanoke College and George Mason has been scrapped.
Roanoke College’s football coaches said, “George Mason University has told Roanoke College that their club football team will not be able to play the game that was planned against our team on Sunday, November 3.” Our club tried hard to find another team to play instead, but after talking to twelve different teams, we couldn’t find one that was willing or able to play Roanoke College in the last game of the season.
We know that our fans were looking forward to the last game, and we feel bad for them. That being said, we see this as a big chance to keep moving our program forward, both now and in the future. We already have a very detailed plan for how we will finish the semester strong in the classroom, make huge progress in strength and conditioning, keep looking for student-athletes who will live up to Roanoke College’s values and the football program’s culture, and look at our strengths and weaknesses to stay engaged and make an impact on and off the field. We are putting all of our efforts into getting ready for the 2025 season and becoming full members of the ODAC.
We can’t thank you all enough on behalf of our staff and team for everything you have done to make this season and the return of Roanoke College football a huge success.
They won all four of their club games this year and will be in the ODAC next year.
