In Roanoke, the Children’s Trust presents the Golden Halo Awards
Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke City Market Building hosted a ceremony to honor those who are preventing child abuse.
One of the Golden Halo Award winners, Roanoke County Commonwealth Attorney Nate Griffith, claims to have devoted his professional life to prosecuting child abuse cases and standing out for the weakest members of our society.
“The work that Children’s Trust does in Roanoke for our children, who are the most vulnerable among us, is incredible. Therefore, it is an amazing pleasure to be able to get an award from them for all of the work that we have done. “Griffith said.”
Griffith, a father of three sons, says he is passionate about promoting the prevention of child abuse.
In their current predicament, they are the ones who are genuinely powerless. And all I could hope for is to be able to devote my professional life to trying to help them escape those circumstances, and as I frequently say, to close that chapter so they may have a lovely, amazing life ahead of them.
“All I could hope for is to do this kind of work and to think that maybe one day I’m making a little difference for them.”
Children’s Trust, a Roanoke County-based social assistance agency, presents the prizes.
According to Executive Director Shawna Franklin, preventing and reducing child abuse requires a village.
It requires a group of individuals who collaborate to achieve the same objective and mission. Additionally, sometimes that work is unappreciated. Therefore, we are gathering today to honor those who carry out that effort. “Franklin said.”
Ten community leaders from Roanoke received a total of six prizes.
