Multiple events lead to Roanoke road closures over the weekend
ROANOKE, Va. — With the weather warming up and coronavirus restrictions scaling down, a number of events will be taking place in the Star City this weekend! However, that also means a number of Roanoke roads will be blocked off to accommodate the events.
The City of Roanoke says the following street closures will be in effect because of this weekend’s events:
- “First and Third Fridays on Franklin” from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21:
- Franklin Road between Jefferson Street and Williamson Road
- “Hustle for the Homeless” from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22:
- 5th Street SW between Church Avenue and Marshall Avenue
- Luck Avenue SW between 4th Street and 3rd Street
- 3rd Street SW between Church Avenue and Campbell Avenue
- 4th Street SW between Campbell Avenue and Salem Avenue
- Jefferson Street between Shenandoah Avenue and Wells Avenue, and between Wells Avenue and Celtic Way (PVT)
- Gilmer Avenue between Gainsboro Road and 2nd Street NE
- Patton Avenue between Gainsboro Road and 2nd Street NE
- “Summer on Second” from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 23:
- 2nd Street SW between Luck Avenue and Church Avenue
