Miss Virginia Pageant returns to Roanoke
The Miss Virginia Pageant is headed back to the Star City.
Organizers hosted the event for over 50 years before moving it to Liberty University in 2018.
It’ll take place June 17-19 at the Berglund Center.
Mayor Sherman Lea and other councilmembers shared in the excitement of its return.
“It’s wonderful to see it return to what I consider its rightful place in the Star City,” said Mayor Lea.
The pageant gives local teens and young women the opportunity to win scholarships and become role models.
The current Miss America is from Virginia.
