Man died after crashing near a Walmart store

Roanoke, Virginia – Roanoke County police are investigating an accident that resulted in the death of one individual on Friday afternoon.
According to police, a 2011 Nissan Altima was going westbound on Challenger Avenue as it exited the parking lot of the Walmart store nearby.
Police say that the driver, 58-year-old Michael Horton, kept going over the entrance road and hit a guardrail before coming to a stop.
After being transferred to a hospital, authorities say Horton was declared dead by medical personnel.
Driving while impaired is not considered the cause of the crash. Authorities said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the impact.
