Identity of victim killed in a Pulaski County crash released

Pulaski County, Virginia – The identity of a man who died on February 3 as a result of a crash in Pulaski County on January 31 has been published by the Virginia State Police.
Gerald P. Kinney, 74, of Dalton, New Hampshire, was traveling south on Interstate 81 in his Hyundai Tucson when he took exit 94 for Route 99. According to authorities, Kinney went off the left side of the road, flipped over, and crashed into a tree.
Kinney was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
The crash remains under investigation, but authorities believe speeding might have played a role in the crash.
