Roanoke, Virginia – The residents of Asheville, North Carolina, are still tidying up the remnants of their house three weeks after Hurricane Helene.

Help and donations to support individuals who lost everything have been pouring in from our hometowns. On Monday, those initiatives persisted.

Situated on the route to its sister institution in Asheville is the Galen College of Nursing, Roanoke institution.

Donations gathered from campus residents fill the automobile to capacity. They have been gathering items that their children, teachers, and families may utilize over the previous week, including clothing, shoes, and school supplies. They increased by about $600 too.

According to Dean Kimberly Brown, Galans value looking out for one another.

“We felt like we could do something meaningful for them because we are in such reasonable proximity to them,” Brown added. “As a show of our support, even though it might not mean much to everyone, we were happy to do it.”

According to Brown, the Asheville campus is running, but what really weighs on their minds are the workers who continue to report for duty despite personal struggles.
