Driver seriously hurt, facing charges after being chased by police

Roanoke, Virginia – A driver is facing charges after being chased by police.
According to Virginia State Police, a state trooper tried to pull over a reckless driver while headed south on I-581 on Monday at 12:48 a.m. The driver did not stop and the trooper was forced to chase him.
The driver crashed at the intersection of Elm Avenue and Ferdinand Avenue SW after exiting I-581.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
