Deer antler shed on exhibit at Buena Vista restaurant could set a new record

Buena Vista, Virginia – Due mostly to his enormous antlers, a huge deer near Buena Vista known to many locals as the ADS Buck has gained notoriety. His antler shedding has been discovered in recent weeks, and one of them might end up in the history books.
The proprietor of the 501 Roadhouse restaurant, where the antler is on display, said that people from all over the nation have come to see the shed.
“I didn’t know there were large shed collectors like that in the world, but there are,” said the individuals from Missouri and Wisconsin. One man has the Hollywood Buck, and he wants this buck. They want all the state records and all the famous bucks.
According to Brian Rowsey, his friend Zeb Henson brought him the 19-point antler that he had discovered on the ADS Buck. Someone else had already located the smaller eight-point shed.
“You know this has to be a state record for the largest shed ever discovered,” I added. Since there have been larger deer slain than that one, I am certain that if it was shot, it wasn’t a state record. However, I assumed that since it was a 27-pointer with all the points, it would tally up, and it did,” Rowsey added.
The length and number of points, the antlers’ spread, and the main beams’ circumference are the factors used to score deer antlers. Rowsey thinks the shed will set a state record for a single antler after receiving scores of 118 on the Virginia rating and 114 on the Boone and Crockett scale.
“After contacting the Department of Game, I was instructed to contact the appropriate person, which I did. Rowsey stated, “I have to go to the International Raceway in Richmond from August 1st to the 3rd, and they’ll judge it to see if you have a state record or not.”
Due to its frequent appearance on Advanced Drainage Systems Incorporated’s premises, the ADS Buck earned its moniker.
This deer has had a bullet wound to his horn. He was still wearing velvet when it was shot with a.22 Magnum. People have attempted to run him over with cars and have even tried to capture him. “This deer never left the city or gave anybody the chance to get him where it was legal, even though everyone was trying to get him,” Rowsey added.
Many individuals have observed the ADS Buck in a variety of locations throughout Buena Vista.
Three times a week at night, he would be out here in front of my business. After that, he would be in people’s backyards and over the railroad lines. “He was everywhere, probably within a mile of wherever he went, but no one ever caught him,” Rowsey said.
The antler shed will be on display at his restaurant until he transports it to Richmond to be evaluated by the state in August, though Rowsey said he is unsure of his long-term plans for it.
“I enjoy bringing joy to others.” Some people spend their entire lives collecting sheds, but I love hunting, I love horns, and I enjoy having people come in and see it. Therefore, I might donate it to them or make a mount of it if I can make one of them happy. He remarked, “I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with it yet.”
