A lunchbox, missing for over four decades, has finally been returned to its rightful owner

Roanoke, Virginia – After more than 40 years, a woman in Roanoke has finally found her lost lunchbox.
According to Roanoke City Public Schools, the vintage lunchbox was returned to its owner on Tuesday after a plumber discovered it while working at Fairview Elementary School.

A Heathcliff lunchbox was discovered by the plumber while working at Fairview Elementary, hidden under a pipe chase. A tag inside identified its owner as Tracy Drain, and the school division was able to contact her.

“I believe it’s fantastic. I would have listed it on eBay’s finders, keepers, losers, and weepers if I had been the one who discovered it. In terms of recalling it, however, it’s fascinating to be able to see it. Tracy Drain, who went to Fairview Elementary School in the early 1980s, said, “I don’t, but it has my mom’s handwriting, which I’ll treasure, there.”

The lunchbox contained a drawing of Garfield and a thermos filled with Nesquik chocolate mix.
Since Garfield was her favorite, we asked Trina, my best friend at the time, if she had drawn this. Since my brother was the drawer at the time, I asked him, but neither of them claimed it,” Drain said.

Drain didn’t remember losing the lunchbox, but she recognized her mother’s handwriting right once.

According to the contents of the lunchbox, Drain thinks she misplaced it around 1982 while attending Fairview for the fourth grade. She claimed that she may not remember losing the lunchbox because her family moved to Craig County the following year.

“I only mentioned that I had the idea that another student might have stolen it and concealed it out of fear of getting caught when their mother arrived to look for it. They may have kept it hidden out of fear of getting into trouble if it hadn’t been on the bus and in our little loading areas, Drain added. “Mom’s writing on it and the way she raised us and looked after us as children make it something I will always treasure.”

Drain claimed she believed it was a fraud when the first individual contacted her regarding the lunchbox.

“I actually read the article, got all the details, and was zooming in on the pictures in confusion because the second person was an old coworker of mine at Kroger who was a friend and sent it to me.” “Wow,” she exclaimed.

Drain expressed her gratitude to the plumber for discovering the lunchbox, which will now be a treasured family remembrance.

My mother will be able to pass that on to me so that I may cling to it. Mrs. Curry’s report card is most likely still in her bedroom’s Hope Chest. Thus, I find it intriguing,” she remarked.

According to Drain, she also misplaced a class ring from Craig County High School in Farmville, Virginia, so she wants anyone who discovers it to get in touch.
