A house fire has displaced fourteen people
Roanoke, Virginia – Roanoke Fire-EMS reports that 14 persons, including 10 children, were displaced by a house fire on Saturday, December 21.
When Roanoke Fire-EMS received reports of a structure fire near 22nd Street SW and Lynn Ave SW, they arrived at 9:02 p.m. Roanoke Fire-EMS said callers were unable to confirm a specific street and home number.
Firefighters said the Roanoke Police Department helped them find the house.
Firefighters said the incident was upgraded to a working fire after the house was covered in thick smoke and flames.
According to firefighters, no injuries were recorded and the fire was contained in forty-five minutes.
Estimates of the cause and damage are unknown.
Firefighters say the American Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.
