First Foodiepreneur Symposium held in Roanoke this week
Roanoke, Virginia – Roanoke small businesses that are struggling with rising prices and a lack of workers are getting help.
The first Foodiepreneur Symposium took place on Monday, and it was attended by sixty individuals from dozens of different restaurants from all across the Roanoke Valley.
The Roanoke Regional Small Business Development Center was the host of the event, with the goal of educating business owners on topics such as marketing, budgeting, and staff recruiting.
Entrepreneurs have learnt how to be proactive with legislative changes, such as a styrofoam ban that might affect business operations.
According to Amanda Forrester, the director of the Roanoke Regional SBDC, “It’s really going to impact their cost of goods, their suppliers, where they get things, how they maneuver those costs, and whether they have to change their prices. All of those are conversations we’re going to have to see what that looks like next. ”
According to Forrester, entrepreneurs may benefit from one another’s experiences through face-to-face networking.
