Roanoke organization restored the historic property
Roanoke, Virginia – Thanks to a Roanoke organization, a family in need will soon move into a once-damaged historic home.
Restoration Housing was able to restore the 1800-square-foot property on Dale Ave. because it was in such bad shape.
The organization hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the restoration project on Friday.
It’s not just a wonderful example of early twentieth-century architecture, but it’s also one of the first residences constructed by the Belmont Land Company for Norfolk Western employees, according to our sources.
“It’s a really important piece of Roanoke’s history, to be able to preserve that, preserve part of this neighborhood, have it come to life again with a family living here, that it’s really great to see,” Restoration Housing Development Coordinator Maribeth Mills said.
