Man killed in Amherst County accident identified
Amherst County, Virginia – The man who died three days after the accident in Amherst County has been identified by Virginia State Police.
Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash around 6 p.m. on June 9 at Amherst Highway/Route29-Business north of Amer Circle.
The 87-year-old Amherst resident, Cecil Harris, ran off the road and hit a utility pole, sign and ditch while driving south on Route 29 with his Honda Civic.
He died in a hospital on June 12.
