Woman found dead of gunshot wound on Christmas morning in Roanoke

Roanoke, Virginia – The police are investigating an incident that left a person down outside a Roanoke home Friday morning.
After a call at about 8:00 a.m., responding officers located a woman with a gunshot wound lying outside her home at 3400 block of Bennett Drive NW.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by the Roanoke Fire & EMS
Her identity will not be released by the authorities, until the victim’s next of kin is notified.
The investigation remains ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
