To increase and improve services, a nonprofit is relocating to Murray Place

Lynchburg, Virginia – A nonprofit organization in Lynchburg that provides resources for families is growing and changing venues.
The old Phase 2 building at 4009 Murray Place will be the new location for Five-18 Family Services. According to Robert Day, CEO of Fnotive-18, the building has been a popular venue for events and nightlife over the years.
According to him, they intend to construct workplaces and event venues that meet their requirements.
“We firmly think it will benefit more than just ourselves. If we can provide conference and event space, we will; we want it to benefit the community, especially other non-profits in the area,” Day stated. “We need more space to meet because our programs are growing and developing.
We would like to merge our staff and relocate to a larger, more centrally situated building that will allow us to expand from the three properties we presently occupy in Lynchburg.”
Five-18’s provides mental health, community, family, and juvenile services. According to Day, their objective is to contribute to a reduction in the number of children entering foster care.
“We will be able to grow thanks to the square footage. Since it has mostly served as an eating area and an event space, we must construct a large number of offices within, but we will also preserve some event space,” Day stated.
They intend to have everything finished by the spring of 2026, and construction will start in March.
