The Friends & Family Restaurant will soon reopen
Giles County, Virginia – Friends & Family Restaurant’s owner, Becky Young, has put a lot of effort into rebuilding the eatery with her family.
Since February 2023, when the original restaurant was destroyed by fire, construction has been underway to construct a new one. The objective is to resume operations in mid-January, so Young is hoping that they will only be a few weeks away from doing so.
Young finds it to be a bittersweet moment as the finish line approaches.
“I’m nervous, but I’m really excited,” she remarked. “With a new building, new equipment, some new employees, and just about everything else, we’re starting from scratch.”
The devoted patrons who have been waiting to reenter the eatery since the day it closed are nothing new.
Some folks appear to be growing impatient as the reopening draws near.
Young stated, “We are aware that people are extremely nervous.” “We’re really excited to get back into serving people for our community again, but I think some of them are more nervous than we are because they drive by here every day just to see what we’re doing.”
Some clients aren’t even attempting to conceal it.
Jenny Martin, who lives in the nearby town of Narrows, reported that she typically visited Family & Friends Restaurant once a week. She expressed her eagerness to get back.
“They have excellent food and service, and I really enjoy their breakfast. I’m also excited to see if they’re going to add anything new to their menu,” Martin remarked. “Please open quickly; we’re missing you.”
Fortunately for Martin and other patrons, Young stated that they do intend to expand their menu. Everyone will have to wait a little while longer to learn the truth, though, because she is keeping it a secret.
Along with the meal, there will be outside seating on the newly constructed front porch.
