Midlothian, Virginia – On a touching November evening, several people of the community showed their affection for Tracy Demeyer, a Midlothian lady suffering with ALS.

Her driveway was crowded with hundreds of people wearing holiday attire, around her house, and loudly singing holiday music.

“The turnout is amazing, but I’m still a little in awe of it. We were anticipating around 10 people when it began, and I stopped monitoring the number of attendees,” said Brian Demeyer, Tracy’s son.

Although she was given a diagnosis a number of years ago, this year the illness has gotten worse.

He stated, “We are approaching the final few weeks of her life here.”

The Demeyer family wanted to give her a particularly memorable Christmas.

Her favorite part of Christmas is always hearing carols, so some of her friends decided to gather a few people, speak with their church, and bring a few people out here because she really wanted to spend Christmas with her family, friends, and everyone else. “Then this occurred,” he cried.

A few individuals in the audience expressed that they wanted to be there to support the Demeyer family since they understood what they were going through.

One caregiver, Tammy Talley, stated, “It’s a personal and loving thing because our mom had MS and died with ALS at 67.”

Tracy grinned broadly as she sang along from her front porch.

Her son remarked, “This is the spirit of Christmas.”
