Developers want to construct a sizable residential complex in Bedford County
Bedford County, Virginia – More housing possibilities are being considered in one of our hometowns.
Developers are pushing to rezone a portion of the Town of Bedford, potentially leading to the construction of 184 new homes.
New public routes, utility infrastructure, and necessary open spaces with features like parks, benches, and walking trails are also part of the project.
The developers claim that this won’t have an adverse effect on the current neighborhoods and that it will provide additional housing possibilities.
Neighbors, meanwhile, are talking about their worries about traffic and sewage capacity.
President of Governor’s Hill Section 1 HOA Cindy Watson said, “We ask that you ensure they get a bond and keep it in place if you allow this to go through, which covers all the work that does not seem to get done on their projects for us.”
White Engineering & Design, Inc. President Jamey White stated, “We think that what we’re doing is probably the best use to get this property developed and to provide housing in the town, which is really needed.”
The planning commission decided to have another public hearing at a later time and did not vote on Thursday.
