City offers friendly holiday ‘recycling’ reminder
Roanoke, Virginia – The City of Roanoke asks citizens to recycle responsibly during the holiday season.
Don’t Recycle:
- Plastic bags
- Shiny wrapping paper
- Christmas cards with glitter or a metallic finish
- Holiday lights or decorations
- Plastic wrap
- Food or pet waste
Do Recycle:
- #1 & #2 plastics
- Colored glass
- Cardboard (please break down cardboard boxes)
- Mixed paper
- Aluminum and steel cans
Christmas trees can be placed at the curb for collection. Remember, only natural trees that are free of tree stands and all trimmings (decorations, ornaments, tinsel and lights) will be collected.
