Virginia – In Western Virginia, federal and state authorities have apprehended 24 registered sex offenders, the majority of whom are accused of failing to provide their current address for listing in an online registry.
The people have been arrested after a six-week investigation by the US Marshals Office and Virginia State Police.
While the operation targeted wanted suspects, US Marshal Thomas Foster stated in a statement that “we continue on a daily basis to seek down and identify those offenders who refuse to comply with the terms and requirements of the sex offender registration program.”
Is someone from the list moves, they are obligated to update their address at the police. The register (https://sex-offender.vsp.virginia.gov/sor/) may be searched by an individual’s name or for a list of offenders residing in a certain region.
