Lynchburg, Virginia – A promise of reform and a message of solidarity following two years of strife on the municipal council.

“We’re all ready to reconcile, we are all ready to be on the same page, we are all ready to be a team.” Marty Misjuns, a member of the Lynchburg city council, stated.

Two prominent Lynchburg Republicans, Mayor Stephanie Reed and Vice Mayor Chris Faraldi, were targeted for censure and removal from the Lynchburg Republican City Committee earlier this year by several committee members.

However, the Republican Party of Virginia said that it was against the LRCC’s bylaws to remove the two while they were still in office.

“We want them to also recognize that there are six elected Republicans – six – and that they all get a voice,” Veronica Bratton, chairwoman of the LRCC, stated.

She supports the Virginia Republican Party’s decision.

“We need to figure out how to move past that and find a way to heal.” “And since I’m sure there are hurt feelings on both sides, my goal is to bring them together,” she stated.

The possibility of censure remains.

However, the Committee opted to table that vote during a meeting on Saturday.

According to Bratton, Vice Mayor Faraldi and Mayor Reed were invited to the meeting.

We have yet to receive a response. Misjuns and Bratton both stated that they anticipate a settlement by Christmas.

They expressed their excitement for the future of the city council and their desire to collaborate amicably with all of its members.
