Police investigating the death of a man found suffering from several gunshot wounds at a Danville apartment complex
Danville, Virginia – An investigation has been opened by the Danville Police Department after the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man at an apartment complex on Wednesday evening.
According to the authorities, just before 11 o’clock they were notified that shots had been fired at the Woodside Village Apartments, located in the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road.
When officers arrived, they located Darick Lamont Richardson II, 23, of Danville, in the parking lot of the apartment complex between the F and K buildings when they arrived. Richardson seemed to have been shot several times.
According to information provided by the police, Richardson was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early on Thursday morning.
Investigators are now attempting to gather further information, and they did not provide any information on a possible suspect at this time.
Residents of the Woodside Village Apartment complex, as well as others living in the nearby streets and neighborhoods, are being asked to get in touch with the Danville Police Department through any of the platforms given below if they have any video surveillance cameras installed in their homes.
