Giles County crash leaves one dead, multiple injured
Giles County, Virginia – According to reports from the Virginia State Police, a woman from Rich Creek who was hurt in a crash between two cars on May 27 died on Saturday from the injuries she got in the crash.
According to the authorities, it was 7:46 p.m. when officers arrived on the scene near the junction of Route 460 and Cascade Drive.
According to the reports from the police, Ronald Hobbs, 79, of Pembroke, was driving a Chevrolet Impala eastbound on Route 460 when he attempted to turn left onto Cascade Road and collided with a Ford F-150 traveling westbound on Route 460. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Ford went off the right side of the road, flipped the vehicle, and ended up in a creek bed that was flooded.
Then, Hobbs was transported to the hospital for treatment of his minor injuries.
Richard Morton, 66 years old and from Princeton, West Virginia, was driving the Ford when it crashed. He was brought to the hospital with minor injuries.
Debra Morton, who was 67 years old at the time of the accident, was brought to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries she sustained in the collision. Another passenger, Shireen Henson, who was 71 years old, was transferred to Roanoke Memorial Hospital after the accident, but she passed away on May 30 as a result of her injuries.
Hobbs was charged with reckless driving.
