Roanoke County Public Schools bus drivers will get $1,500 bonus after school board approves an inceptive package
Roanoke County, Virginia – Newly hired school bus drivers will get a $1,500 bonus after the Roanoke County School Board approved an incentive package on Monday.
The Roanoke County School Board said they plan to hire more new drivers, as well as bus aides and substitute bus drivers.
“No experience is necessary to become a school bus driver. We will provide all the training and help new drivers earn their CDL,” said Kathy King, supervisor of transportation.
New drivers who are employed and have a valid Commercial Driver’s License will be eligible for a $1,500 bonus after working for the company for 90 consecutive days. New drivers who do not yet have a commercial driver’s license will be eligible for a $1,000 bonus after completing their CDL training and driving for 90 days. New bus aides will be eligible for a $500 bonus upon employment.
