Power outage reported, students dismissed
Roanoke, Virginia – Due to a power outage, Big Island Elementary School in Bedford County will dismiss students early today.
The outage is expected to last four to five hours, according to Bedford County Public Schools. Water, phones, and electricity are not available at the school, therefore lunch cannot be made.
There will be regular bus routes, and parents and guardians are invited to pick up their children from school.
Anyone who has to make other transportation arrangements can email the principal.
