Arlington County to rename Lee Highway
Arlington County, Virginia – A northern Virginia county wants to rename Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee highway.
On its Saturday meeting, the board within Arlington County announced that they will vote next month to rename Lee Highway for abolitionist John Langston.
Board members said the name change will cost $300,000 and the extra month will allow for more community engagement.
John Langston was the first Black person to be elected to Congress from Virginia.
