Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department expands its crew
Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department has hired more than a dozen additional firefighters to boost its existing staff.
Following last week’s graduation, the department said they were very happy with the candidates they found to fill open jobs.
According to the department, it has always had enough people to work. However, it realizes that the addition of these new team members will be good for the community and the agency’s ability to serve it better in the future.
“We’re able to staff more trucks, put more people on the street to help when they have an emergency. So it’s that advanced level of medical care that we’re putting on the street to try and help folks who are in need,” says Brian Clingenpeel, Community Outreach Coordinator for Roanoke County Fire & Rescue.
In all, he estimates that the department will add around 15 team members from this graduation.
