Page Moir returns to coaching at North Cross
Roanoke Va. – He’s easily considered one of the coaching legends in our area…with a nearly 3 decade career at Roanoke College. But after 5 years away from the game…Page Moir is returning to the sidelines for a new challenge.
“I’m going to be in a learning experience but coaching is coaching,” Moir said.
And one of the wisest coaches in the game– who earned a school best and ODAC best 428 wins is ready to make his imprint on the North Cross Raiders program.
“I think I’ve seen enough high school basketball hopefully and I’ve got enough good friends in high school basketball. And it’s funny I’ve had enough youngsters that have played for me from our surrounding area that I feel comfortble.”
Those talented players and coaches he came in contact with during his RC days, mixed with the rich coaching tradition at North Cross, were main factors that attracted Moir to the Raiders program.
“Fortunate to follow a program that’s had such great coaching. Shannon– a proven commodity, he’s from the Valley. A guy that when he coaches he tell them hey I made it to the hightest level. Ed Green I followed at Roanoke College so I knew him well, coach Bill Hodges and for years Jim Moscaro did an incredible job at North Cross.
And while the ball is in his court for the first time at the prep level, Moir’s goals remain the same.
“Have their best interest at heart and I’m there to help them develop as both people and players depending on each person’s desire with where they want to go with basketball.”
