Virginia vaccine registration websites down ahead of new statewide system
Virginia is unveiling a statewide system that lets people across the state pre-register for the vaccine.
The Alexandria Health Department mentioned the new system in their regular COVID update for the city. Per their release, the system will go live February 16 at 8 a.m.
Because of the change, all local health districts have closed their individual pre-registration forms. They will then replace them with the statewide system link Tuesday.
The release said “existing waitlists will be imported into the new system and pre-registration will be temporarily unavailable throughout Virginia.”
People who have filled out pre-registration for Alexandria appointments will be imported into the new statewide system. ABC7 has reached out to the state health department for more details on this process, as well as more information on the system.
