Bikesharing makes it easy to commute, shop, dine, and explore your community by bike. Powered by Zagster bikeshare, getting on a bike has never been easier.

How Does It Work?

Bikesharing allows you to check out a bike from stations all across the Roanoke Valley, ride as long as you want, and return the bike to a same or different station.

Accessing bikeshare is easy – simply download the free Zagster app from the App Store or Google Play.  Select a membership plan or hourly plan, and follow the instructions to unlock your bike and start riding.

How Much Does it Cost?

There are two ways to access your bike: through an annual membership or an hourly rate.

An annual membership is $40 a year and provides unlimited, 1 hour, station to station trips. Additional hours run $3 per hour.

RIDE Solutions offers a $30 a year student rate to qualifying educational institutions.

Hourly renters can access the bikes for $3/hour.

Can I borrow a Zagster bike via text message?

Yes! It’s simple, just like riding a bike! Go to a Zagster bike station and:

Text the word “Start” and the bike’s number to us at 202-999-3924. For example, text “Start 100” to rent bike 100. The bike’s number can be found on labels near the handlebars and on the lockbox.

We’ll text you back a locking code and instructions on how to use it.

Release the bike and remove the bike from its station. Always lock the bike up if you’re not riding it.

When you’re done, lock the bike back to its Zagster station and text us “End” to end your rental.
